On Saturday, May 11th, our favorite art teacher stopped by to do a special Mother's Day program for the kids. Each child received the book "What's inside a Flower?" by Rachel Ignotofsky and went home with a specially designed flower pot, flower, and card for a mother in their life.
The next session with Casey will be June 8th to kick off our Summer Reading Challenge! Participants will receive the book "Going Places" by and will do a project to make travel trucks!

Today the a group of 10 students from Burr and Burton Academy spent their day at the library. Although they were supposed to do trail maintenance, it was raining buckets when they arrived. Instead they did some dusting and outdoor cleaning along with a lot of collection maintenance, aka making room on the shelves for new books! It is a huge job that usually takes months to complete but they did 3/4 of the library in one day, saving me hours and hours of work. We are super grateful to BBA and their students. Thank you to Jillian Joyce for arranging the day.
