Vermont State Parks & Historic Sites Passes
Each year, libraries across the state of Vermont are provided with passes to all Vermont State Parks and all Vermont Historic Sites that can be checked out and used by library patrons to gain free entry to those sites. The Vermont Historic Sites include President Calvin Coolidge's Homestead, The Bennington Monument, Eureka Schoolhouse, and many other locations. The Vermont State Parks in our regional area include Lowell Lake State Park, Jamaica State Park, Emerald Lake State Park, and Camp Plymouth State Park, among many others.
This program was first introduced in 2009 and is sponsored by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, & Recreation, Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, and the Vermont Department of Libraries. Each year the pass program ends when the parks and sites close for the summer/fall; that date varies according to individual park and site rules. The library pass admits one vehicle holding up to eight people to a Vermont State Park or Vermont Historic Site for one day.

STEAM Kits
Thanks to a grant from the Winnie Bell Learned Fund in 2023, we have 6 STEAM Kits for children ages 3 and up to check out. Each kit contains a book and an experiential toy related to science, technology, engineering, arts, or math. These kits are hanging up on the wall next to the Janeway Wing and are a perfect way to enrich learning at home.
