Liz Saplin’s interest in photography dates to the 1970’s when her college chum introduced her to photography and to the remarkable work of Henri Carter-Bresson. While in Paris for NYU’s year abroad program, she studied language, linguistics, and art (at L’École du Louvre). Liz tried to emulate scenes from Carter-Bresson’s photography. After three different careers spanning a few decades, Liz began shooting again and used her photographs in artisanal stationery, under the name studiozazu. From there, she moved into square format images. These images light up the imagination as there are few extraneous elements to distract. Recently, she began exploring larger, rectangular images which lend themselves well to landscapes, architecture, and still-life.

We'd love to have your art here at the library!

The South Londonderry Library is excited to have artists show their work in the Janeway Wing. Shows would last for at least two months. Specific length and timing may vary. If you only have a few pieces, still apply! We may be able to pair you with another artist for a slot of time. As the heart of the community, we hope to showcase local and regional art, although all applications will be accepted.
