Christine Mix

Christine Mix was born in Dayton Ohio, in the early 1960’s. In the mid 1970’s her family moved to Connecticut, just outside of New York City.
Christine studied art at Coker College, in Hartsville, S.C. for one year and then headed to Florida, where she received an Art Scholarship for painting, at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. Just after she graduated from the University of South Florida in 1988, with a double B.A. in Fine Arts and Mass Communications, she painted her first children’s illustration in watercolor, titled “Spike & Wordo’s Magical Wish.” Hence, Spike the Dragon was born and Christine realized she had found her niche in art and her future! Christine happily lives in Vermont, with her other half, Jake and their furry, four legged family. She also works part-time as a librarian at Wilder Memorial Library in Weston, surrounded by an amazing community and lot’s of books! She has been creating children’s stories and illustrations ever since Spike was originally created. |
We'd love to have your art here at the library!

The South Londonderry Library is excited to have artists show their work in the Janeway Wing. Shows would last for at least two months. Specific length and timing may vary. If you only have a few pieces, still apply! We may be able to pair you with another artist for a slot of time. As the heart of the community, we hope to showcase local and regional art, although all applications will be accepted.
