The South Londonderry Free Library joined the Green Mountain Library Consortium's (GMLC) Listen Up! Vermont (LUV) service which provides a collection of thousands of eBooks and digital audiobooks available for check out through the service's platform called Overdrive. All registered patrons will be able to use their library account information to log in to Overdrive's Libby App and browse the GMLC Listen Up! Vermont collection. Check out, place holds, renew and check in digital items from your smartphone, tablet, eReader, laptop or desktop computer using the Libby app or internet browser edition.
How does it work?
Here are some basic instructions on how to use this service.
Visit the Help page and watch Overdrive's how-to videos, visit the Device Resource Center to learn how to use Overdrive on your device, and download all necessary apps or software to your personal device(s) and/or computer(s). The new free LIBBY app is very easy to negotiate.
From the GMLC Listen Up! Vermont Overdrive home page, click on "Sign In" in the upper right corner, then select "South Londonderry Free Library" from the drop down list and click "Sign In" again. When prompted, enter your library account credentials to access your account.
Once you are logged in, go to "My Account" and then click "Settings" to set your account lending periods (7 days or 14 days) and, if desired, content filters.
Browse the collection to check out and/or place holds on items or save items to a Wish List.
eBooks and digital audiobooks can be enjoyed on portable devices, computers, and on any type of web browser.
